See Your Dream Floor in Your Own NoCo Home
Choosing the perfect hardwood isn’t just about little swatches in a showroom, it’s about seeing the different species, grain textures, variations, stains, and finishes in your own space…in the morning and in the evening.
That’s why we make large, custom samples tailored to your vision. We’ll even bring them to your door!
Common species selections in Northern Colorado are White Oak, Red Oak, Hickory, Walnut, Maple, Ash, and more! But there’s more to choose from than just species…each species has multiple grade options — some grades are “clean” with little variation, longer boards, and little knots, whereas some grades give more of a “rustic” feel with more variation, shorter boards, and more knots. Or, you can get the best of both worlds…little variation with knots in a cathedral cut, or a completely different cut of wood such as rift & quartered.
Whether you know exactly what you want or are just beginning to look, we’re here to help guide you through the process!

What to Expect
We don’t just install floors — we design & build them to last. Here’s exactly what happens from first call to final walkthrough:
Free On-Site Measure
WHAT WE DO: We’ll meet in your space and listen to your vision so we can understand your wants, needs, and lifestyle. We’ll measure and assess the space, and if you’d like, we’ll bring samples for you to explore in your space & lighting.
WHY IT MATTERS: Once we understand your vision and lifestyle, we can guide you toward options that will serve you for years to come, whether it be a specific wood species, a custom stain blend, or a particular finish.
Estimate Delivery
WHAT WE DO: Following the on-site measure, we’ll review our measurements, notes, and photos or your space. Then, we’ll create a custom estimate tailored to your vision, wants, and needs with optional upgrades available.
WHY IT MATTERS: We understand that every home, every floor, and every client is unique. Therefore, we focus on providing a personalized, client-focused experience.
Schedule & Prepare
WHAT WE DO: Following estimate approval, we’ll order materials, schedule your delivery and project dates, & arrange a job walk with your Project Lead. We’ll also help coordinate with any other contractors involved.
WHY IT MATTERS: We schedule around your timeline and make sure your Lead is fully familiar with your project details. You’ll know exactly how to prepare and what to expect before the work begins.
During Your Project
WHAT WE DO: We’ll call when we’re on our way, keep you updated daily, and send progress photos if you’re not home. Our team follows NWFA guidelines & installs and refinishes with care, passion, and attention to detail.
WHY IT MATTERS: Communication and craftsmanship go hand in hand. You’ll always know what’s happening in your home, and that we’re handling your floors with precision and care.
After Your Project
WHAT WE DO: We’ll contact you to schedule your final walkthrough — typically the evening of the last day — and we’ll provide you with everything you need to know about caring for your floor, along with your warranty information.
WHY IT MATTERS: Our relationships and your experience matter to us. We want you to love the floor we’ve put our heart into crafting and to feel confident caring for it for years to come.
Real Northern Colorado Projects — Before & After
Hardwood Flooring 101: A Guide for Northern Colorado Homes
-
Solid Hardwood Benefits
Longer lifespan — Solid hardwood is 3/4” thick, so it will last for decades and can be sanded and refinished many times. We’re still refinishing floors built in the early 1900s.
Higher resale value — Homes with solid hardwood typically see a 2-3% higher ROI when it comes time to sell.
Customizable — Choose from many different options: wood species, cut style, plank width, stain, and finish.
Timeless look — You can change the stain color and/or finish each time the floor is refinished.
Humidity control recommended — An in-home humidifier helps reduce the amount of expansion and contraction in our dry Colorado climate.
Engineered Hardwood Benefits
More stable in dry climates — It’s layered construction allows for less expansion and contraction between boards.
Wider planks at a lower cost — Offers wide-plank hardwood with better affordability.
Quicker installation - Installs faster than solid hardwood as there are no dry times between coats.
Refinishable (in some cases) — Depending on thickness of the top wood veneer, it may be able to be sanded and refinished once or twice.
Distinct appearance — Most styles have a beveled look between planks.
Versatile installation — With proper substrate floor preparation, it can be installed over concrete.
Humidity control recommended — An in-home humidifier helps reduce the amount of expansion and contraction in our dry Colorado climate.

Lately, our clients are loving the natural hardwood look, so it’s becoming more and more common to skip stain.
However, when a stain color is chosen, darker shades of brown such as Medium Brown or Provincial are most common these days.
The second most common stain color is Weathered Oak, which has a soft, mildly aged look…absolutely beautiful on a white oak floor.

Refinishing offers many benefits over a full replacement and allows you to preserve the character and history of your existing floors. Every floor has a story, so why replace when you can refinish?
Cost-Effective: Refinishing is far less expensive than ripping out and replacing your floors entirely.
Time-Efficient: A refinishing project will take less time.
Eco-Friendly: By keeping your existing floors, you’re doing your part to reduce waste and promote sustainability in your home.
